The Verathans were a now-extinct civilization native to the Verath system in the Gamma Quadrant, which reached its peak approximately 30,000 years ago. At its height, their empire included over two dozen star systems, connected by a highly-developed trade and communications network. Their history can be divided into at least nineteen dynasties.
A Verathan statue depicting Drohlak, the prime ossemite of the 19th dynasty, was among the artifacts offered for auction by Vash on Deep Space 9 in 2369. (DS9: "Q-Less").
Verath system.
The Verath system was a star system. This system was located in the Gamma Quadrant. A planet in this system was the homeworld to the ancient Verathan civilization.
Vash visited the Verath system while in the company of Q, and brought back a Verathan artifact, a stone statue showing the prime ossemite Drohlak, which she auctioned off at Deep Space 9 in 2369. (DS9: "Q-Less").
Drohlak.
Drohlak was a Verathan and the prime ossemite of the 19th Dynasty of Verathan civilization.
A statue depicting him was among the artifacts auctioned off by Vash and Quark in 2369. The statue was purchased by Kolos for 36 bars of latinum. Prior to the auction Vash put this statue among other items into a storage locker in the assay office. The clerk described it as "One statue, stone, thirty-odd centimeters tall, approximately eight kilograms." (DS9: "Q-Less").
Kolos (Andoran).
Kolos was an Andoran business associate of Quark's. He did not think very highly of Quark, calling him as an "obsequious toad."
Kolos was one of a select clientele Quark allowed to participated in an auction in Quark's Bar in 2369, which he described as "all ridiculously wealthy and not too bright". In the auction artifacts brought back from the Gamma Quadrant by Vash were offered for sale. He was successful in his bid for a Verathan statue depicting Drohlak, paying 36 bars of latinum for it. Quark attempted to interest him in a dagger as a companion piece, but he was outbid by Stol. (DS9: "Q-Less").
