What drew me to this thesis that I spotted after googling my username was the fact that my username was mentioned, and I certainly didn't remember going onto this site before. It was only after I downloaded it to see what was going on and read through the pages. It was when I got to page 21 that I came to the bit about why I was mentioned. I'll not tell you about it so that you yourselves can read it and judge for yourself if it's true or not. The following link is a PDF file and you might have to download it. dspace.sunyconnect.suny.edu/bitstream/handle/1951/58383/Jennifer_Golabek_Thesis_May2012.pdf?sequence=1Jennifer Golabek is/was a University Student and in 2012 she chose the world of fanfiction to do a thesis on calling it Amateur Authors Venture Down Diagon Alley: Authorship within the Fan Writing Potterverse She goes into intricate detail about how members are encouraging and welcoming and also afraid of posting their first story. Jennifer basically seems to go into intricate detail about what makes the fanfiction writer tick. I'll leave you to read through and tell me below what you think.
